My next release is planned in the second quarter of 2024. I just finished it in March so it's with my editor, or hatchet woman as I call her! It's the story of an American author with writer's block who visits Cumbria in search of house where he can be inspired to write again. Not only does he find a house but it turns out to be an old church with a lake that shares his name. Soon, he starts seeing things. Twelve standing stones appear in the lake and, after draining it, they disappear. When he realises that he's unwittingly unleashed twelve demonic souls on the small village of Chattersley he must find a way to make amends.

Also planned for release in 2024, I'm just rewriting Shadowman at the moment. It's about a schoolboy who is bullied and tells a shadowy figure that he wishes the bully and the headmaster were dead. The Shadowman offers to grant his wish, plus one other life, in exchange for his soul. Many years later, after wishing a third person dead, the time comes to pay his debt, but he renegotiates to buy back his soul. Unfortunately the price has doubled and now it will cost him six lives in exchange for his own!

Spirit was my first novel, written a lifetime ago, and like many first time writers, I thought that writing it was the hard part. Just as well I didn't give up my day job back then. It still needs to be rewritten and I'm sure it will change drastically before it finally gets published.

It's the story of John Turner and David Chambers, who venture into a deserted tin mine one summers day and disturb something sinister that had lain dormant for two hundred years. With Chambers determined to become a medium, he hosts a séance and releases the dark spirit into the quiet Cornish community, leaving his best friend, Turner, to clear up his mess.

See, I can't decide? It will end up a single word title anyway! I first started writing this book after a trip to Clearwater in British Columbia in 2006 and was inspired simply from some of the front yards of the locals. One look at those rusted 50's trucks in front of their trailers and the idea behind newlyweds, the Copelands, getting lost in the Canadian wilderness was born. 

They say no good deed goes unpunished. That was the case for David Jenner after he defended a girl against a group of bullies. He is beaten and left blind, as the bullies take revenge, but it is not only his four remaining senses that improve as a result. He develops a sixth sense that allows him to see visions when touching people's personal items. He soon becomes embroiled in a police investigation into missing teenage girls which ultimately endangers his own life.

But he doesn't want to take his own life for fear of ending up in purgatory for all eternity.  A man gives him the website, kill.com, and he enters his own details and pays the money, accepting the terms and conditions which clearly state, there is no way back. But when he later falls for his colleague, Stacey, he suddenly has a reason to live, only he has now entered into a contract from which there is no escape.
